Would it be too much to ask you what characterizes "good Europeans"?

Ones I like of course.

I actually do like you but I don't like it when you make negative or derisive comments about topics you may or may not know about.......race relations in general and specifically in the US is one of those topics. Europeans are sophisticated on a number of topics but I don't believe race relations is one of them. The classic example is the way Chirac handled the covering of the head in public buildings by Muslims.......and I am not arguing about his right to pass the law but rather the way he presented that law to the French people including Muslims. It was unbelievable. He would have been hung in this country.

I find Europeans' reaction to race and to the concept of race relations to be roughly 20-30 years behind the US. Its understandable.........you all haven't had to be as concerned with or sensitive to the issue of race as we have. And when you comment on other races or when you comment on the way the US should deal in its race relations your comments appear to reflect that inexperience and come off in the same way as the ugly American of old did in Europe.......at least to me.........and it prompts me to react. That's all.

As for "good Americans" to go with that, I already know your definition. They are just like "good Europeans", right?

God forbid that world affairs will ever be run by such people.

They have been and will be again.
