This is not quite true. I was complaining about politic and I (for one, bot not the only one) have never ever start any political subject here.
Second I'm foreigner too, EU citizen.
What you fail to understand is this. When you for example write, that someone (politican) is idiot, it's doesn't bother me, or many others, who it is, democrat or conservative or anyone else. But since some become ofended, they answer, react and soon you have many many msg, out of subject, screaming, names called etc...
What have this to do with gold? Why we have to have this here?
I know, you are not working and you have plenty of time. But here are many of us, who are working, who have to distribute free time among not too many available hours. And then you start thinking, why I need to go trough tenses of msgs out of subject and waist my time? Because someone can't control himself and post his political opinions where they belong - on the political thread.
See, don't matter what or who you are talking about....
But let me give you one example, to see if I'm exaggerating or maybe there is something wrong with Tom's too.
Imagine, that there is a perfect politic thread where are taking well.... about politic. And then I show up and every so often I start with 'you idiot, why do you think, that gold will go up, buy silver!!! - some respond, screaming start...
Don't you think that some members of that thread would start complaining over me? And over screaming and mess I generated in general? Imagine that I would keep doing it. Don't you think, that I will soner or later be banned?
But if we take this thread as measure what to do, people who started complaining about me, would soon become bad, and be banned. How come?!?
That's what happened here.

And when people start to complain about that, are they really so bad? When I complained with nice wording never used name calling or any cusing words, Tom become, ofensive, sarcastic there was even some name calling.
And second, I think that there is general rule, that every ban should be folowed by the warning first. Right? Don't see this here latelly. Just, don't like you - BAN! Don't like your opinion on some other thread - BAN!
So I don't agree with you that I'm exagerating.
But well, there are other Gold threads. If Tom is not wiling to listen others who are sharing community with him, (he is missunderstanding that it is HIS community), that community may start shrinking a little bit.
I can learn a lot from people like Goldsheet and Condor and Canuk Dave and others similar, who have knowledge and are ready to share it. I can learn from them way more, than from Tom or you for example. Those are members who are (more or less from time to time) unwelcome on Tom's thread.
Why? Because of politic you brought here!

I hope I explained in the way I wanted to since I will try to stay out of this subject for now. I think all was said what needed to be.

Btw, Ralph, just one last thought.
You know why all this is happening? You are friends. So, if you do something unfair and he had to protect you, he (usually) automatically need to be unfair to others. So, what is happening here is, that he is, because of you, because of friendship, running into some troubles and he is losing some respect among others. Strong friendship, hat down.
But you know what? If my acting would run my FRIEND into trouble, I would think twice before I would do it again. I guess, we are different...
But yes, you are right, this is really not subject I should worry about. |
