Bullshit your self. If I'm desperate and my family is starving, what is my first reaction? Is it to shoot at the rescuers, rape any passing women, and steal digital T.V.s? No, those are not the actions of desperate men. Those are the actions of criminals in their idea of heaven: a place where there are thousands of people with no police around to hold them accountable.

Don't give me this desperation crap. This type of behavior didn't happen in New York. The fact that prisoners were let loose in lieu of evacuating them to other prisons is the BEST explanation I've seen for the rampant crime wave. Desperate people looking for food and water don't rape and steal T.V.s. They may kill for food, but they don't shoot at doctors and rescue workers, because that is precisely what they are looking for.

Oh such unandulterated crap. First let me clear up one issue. The guy was watching Fox News. When the hell do they ever get anything right? During the flooding, they showed only one prison that had to be evacuated. The prisoners were relocated to a freeway on ramp and were guarded until they were moved to another prison. To my knowledge no prisoners were let loose in the city willingly by the authorities.

And to compare NO to NYC doesn't make sense. The disaster was confined to one neighborhood of NYC, not the entire city. The horror of 9/11 was not so much its magntitude but how it was perpetrated. Nonetheless, the GOP treats Guliliani like he's this superhero when in reality, he was simply a good mayor doing his job. If there was ever a GOP mayor who was a hero, it was Richard Riordan of LA.......he turned that city around singlehandedly......but I suspect he's too liberal for most of the GOP.
