An estimated 120,000 remained behind. I don't see any reason to believe that more than 40,000 wanted to leave.

OK, I'll assume that for the sake of argument. Then we would have had only 80K people sitting on rooftops. Do you think that the criticism would have been any less than it is with 120K on rooftops?
