Reestablishing ID is underway -- her daughter has ascertained that she can a copy of the missing birth certificate from the state, and "A new ATM card can be gotten by going into a branch with a copy of the signature card and doing a matching signature, answering questions, things like that."
This is remarkable: "A great piece of news is that her home on in a narrow strip of land that did not get flooded!
I was informed of this, but without an immediate explanation of how they knew it. This is how: "Bloggers in the city have been compiling detailed maps of the flooding." How great is the internet?
Not wanting to be a downer, I decided not to respond to the good news about that spit of land not having been flooded by asking about wind damage or possible looting -- and I didn't ask for further news about the 5 (five) dogs that were in the house when she was blocked from returning. The answer is either that they have escaped from a broken window, been saved by someone who heard them barking, or are still in there dying of thirst.
Again, thanks for the helpful information, which I did pass on. I'll pass on the bank link, too, though they seem to feel they have a grip on that problem. (I"m getting this third, no fourth, hand: Nephew's mother in law L, to niece in law T, to nephew Luke, to me.) |
