"Calling someone a Nazi accomplishes diddly squat."

Amen CD. The left needs to offer an alternate plan. Until they do the voice of the opposition is those like RE. From my personal perspective RE is a great asset to the "right". I maintain now and have that a rational democrat would win every election. The use of the term Nazi is particularly offensive in that it cheapens the memory of what the Nazi's did. I find that despicable. I suppose the next favorite is neocon - but I still don't know what that exactly means.

On another board a Canadian friend described our politics as "brass knuckles". Well - I am afraid he ain't seen nothing yet. The Supreme Court will now blossom into full battle formations.

As for the Euro - it is a piece of trash. Their demographics are a disaster and their industrial cost structure is already non competitive. Watch the screams as the currencies realign. In particular I suspect you will hear screams from Ontario and cries to loot Alberta.

Finally, it will be very interesting to see exactly what happened in the chain of decisions regarding the entry of the National Guard into NO. The governor of the state is in command until relinquished. Watch to see what the time line was. Of particular note - Ms. Blanco was nowhere to be seen this morning. Perhaps Tim Russert would have asked her if she was going to resign.

The markets are going to be hugely interesting over the next months.

Bob
