Its not academic at all. As I understand it, there is a significant difference in the measurement levels of hurricanes as it is with earthquakes. Therefore, the difference between a CAT 4 vs a CAT 5 is pretty substantial in impact. Bullshit alert! ww2010.atmos.uiuc.edu geo.mtu.edu Hurricane ratings are fairly linear using their storm surge measurements as compared to earthquakes which are measured on a logarithmic scale (base 10). ted, you REALLY need to stop making it up as you go. Not that any of your buddies care about accuracy where possible... :)
