David, It is nuts to think that a faster federal response would have been in any way conceivable. I know everyone WANTS it, but from a technical standpoint, it is difficult to see how that might have occurred. I can conceive of technical ways the response could have been faster. Difficult? Perhaps, but I'm pretty sure if we all put our heads together and stopped this partisan bickering just long enough, we can come up with a system that can withstand any disaster, whether natural or man-made. Of course, the "partisan bickering" part might be too much to ask for some people ... Tenchusatsu
