You're right, I was off by 2 days. Katrina left 6 days ago. As to Krugman, he is no more relevant than your ad hominem attacks. But the lack of action by Bush and Blanco is relevant. Bush had the power to act quickly but didn't, Blanco had the power to act quickly, but didn't. Bush didn't over ride Blanco. It's an interesting but futile idea to re-write history and ask what would have happened if Bush had sent in the National Guard on day 1 after Katrina left. My guess is that he would have won in the near and long term. Maybe even ending his presidency as the most respected and decisive of presidents.
