I agree totally.

In many situations I claim to understand the Japanese and their legacy extremely well without being a Japanese myself, so how could I disagree?

Quite often I even claim to understand many strange US cultural implications without being a Norte Americano myself, so how could my disagreement be proper?

Same goes for the other countries I lived since age 12, the cultures, habits and languages of same.

But those are all kind of intellectual achievements and I doubt that could project to understanding being an African American in the current USA without being one yourself.

Or do you really believe I am wrong here?
