Some more good news.....some of the NO pumps are starting to work, pumping water from the Canals back into the lake. In addition, the breach in the 17 St canal has been repaired temporarily.

For the first time, the Mayor of NO seems to be happy.

However, now its the mayors in suburban NO who are going ballistic. The mayor of Kenner was asked what should be done with M. Brown, the director of FEMA......the mayor said "fire him"! The mayor, I think, of Covington as well as the mayor of Kenner say they are in desperate need of water and food and they both claim they have not seen the feds at all yet.
And then there was a third mayor....possibily from Bogalusa.....that was beside himself in anger. I could barely understand him but he was saying that the feds had promised to help this one resident......they kept saying they were coming to get her but they didn't and she drowned Friday nite trying to get out. Then he started crying.

Meanwhile, Gov. Blanco was not told that Bush was coming back to LA today until he was already on the ground. So I think we have the makings of a feud going on between the two.
