I'm one of those people who believes the government should exist to provide police protection, maintain the roads and put out fires.

I'd note that in each of those three categories, the federal government does not have a lead role (except in the case of putting out forest fires).

There will be ample time later for finger pointing and blame laying.

I don't doubt that Congress will convene yet another one of those Commissions they are so fond of to study the circumstances of the state, local and federal reaction to this disaster.

I suggest we all sit back, do what we can in our own ways to help the people affected, and not add to the confusion by throwing stones and casting blame. There will be plenty of time for that, and there are still people in harm's way and who need assistance.
