I don't know anything about these sources, but I do remember that it was bloggers who quickly exposed the forged-document fraud Dan Rather and 60 minutes tried to foist off on the American public on the eve of the election. And I remember that CBS News insisted for two weeks that a typewriter in the 1970s maybe could write a document that looked like Microsoft.

And I remember that CBS's internal investigation resulted in firing the 60 minutes producer, demoting some executives, and apologizing to the public.

Maybe you have a shorter memory.
