Floppy vs the Zip

Okay you made some valid points about corporate downsizing.

Would I give somebody a disk that costs $12 to give them a file or a couple of diskettes that costs pennies? I am assuming he will not give the zip disk back.

I was only saying what the magazine said. If Iomega could make a drive that could read and write 3.5 floppies they would have a surefire new standard.

I think time will be on Iomega's side. Eventually prices will fall back so consumers won't be hesitant about buying a Zip. In the meantime, people would rather spend their money on modems or software. In the meantime, people will have to continue to be organized with their floppies. (and by the way Zip disks are the same media as floppies and they can get corrupted too).
