"I just finished reading the Gospels from cover to cover... no indication that Jesus thought much of war, and he HATED rich people." I had a little debate with a "Christian" Bushie about Jesus's teachings reagarding the rich. I'd quote Jesus's sayings on the subject, and was told "Oh, Jesus was just talking to that ONE guy!, he wasn't talking to ME!" Regarding war, they often quote the OLD Testament. Whatever rationalizes what they want to do. There's a wealth of material to abuse and misuse. I can't really blame them though. To actually practice the teachings of Jesus is something few are capable of. At least I don't even pretend to, although I admire those VERY few who do. That doesn't include 99.99% of the "Christians" I've encountered in my life. If you were to live as Jesus commanded, you'd be homeless and likely committed.
