FWIW:
After seeing the federal action following Kat, I'd say that most Americans are now giving some deep thought to just how 'protected' they really are.
Good things will come from this screw-up. Give it time. I'd bet the next disaster will be met with one hell of a relief effort.

But personally, I'm making my own plans.
