About VLO. There is no shortage of oil, and maybe never really will be, as they develop the sands. The bottleneck is at the refinery level, and in this sense VLO is in the sweet spot. Many people came to this realisation only during the last several days. Maybe Cramer is one of them. He's a momentum trader. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever -- he just doesn't present himself that way I think you nailed it. At his core, the guy is a momo trader -- but he is compelled (probably by the format of his show) to rationalize his stuff by talking FA. In this game no one should ever listen to anyone.... sometimes even to themselves... (g/ng)
