I read the cato boys on ROME, the people that prospered were not the ones with lots of shiny metal - not at the end - it was the big land owners that moved far away from the tax man and started big farms that were not being bleeded dry by an oppressive unsustainable regime. I dont think that is possible today - or at least my ex pat friends in small islands say it isnt - they long for those roman times.
