you've done remarkable well posting the events as they did unfold considering the circumstances
last week as I searched for my father, saw the human carnage, all I could think of was him - now that he is safe, with me, I look back and am deeply struck and disturbed with how a small percentage of urbanites reacted and behaved at such a base level - for me, that is a huge eye opener - maybe it's like that in all societies
and yet
there are so many more people who care, who are proving this their finest moment - the people at crosspoint church, people volunteering, people working and putting together aid, trucks, food, cash donations, taking families
indeed this was a tale of two cities, the best of times, the worst of times
can't help but wonder what it will be like going forward.....
as far as new orleans in it's future configuration....i do hope much effort and thought is put into any rebuilding plans...
i do know this.....you cannot rebuild the essence that was new orleans as it used to be now that it is destroyed, there will be a new city, but it never be the same, nor should it be....because the new orleans that 'was' lead to the untold misery that played out in the face of the inevitable of hurricanes, katrina |
