I still believe there is a fair amount of luck in knowing when to sell. TECD could have continued to climb to over $ 50 had the market not tanked yesterday (and today, it seems). Notice the word could.

Also, there is a difference in trading and long term holdings. If I had recently bought TECD, I would have traded out in a flash, but I hold the shares I own for a long-term, non-trading position.

I have many stocks that I hold long-term in one account but trade those same stocks in another. I have different goals for my accounts - some cannot afford to wait for years for returns, while others, in my retirement account, are not in a hurry.

No offense to your strategy Joe. I didn't mean you were lucky, just that there is luck in trading as there is in life.
