Good point. It just sickens me that things were allowed to deteriorate. And the stupid claims that the governor never called for the National Guard...

Where do they think the 250 or so the mayor had helping came from? And why was he complaining about promises of thousands that hadn't shown up? Why would he have been expecting them? No, she called for the Guard. For some inexplicable reason, like so many inexplicable things during this crisis, they were slow in coming. Not showing up in significant numbers until Dubya made his grand tour. I wonder if there is a connection?
