Bear Stearns

NEW YORK, September 8 (newratings.com) - Analyst Philip Alling of Bear Stearns upgrades UNOVA (UNA.NYS) from "peer perform" to "outperform." The target price is set to $42.

In a research note published yesterday, the analyst mentions that the company has signed two RFID licensee agreements with the two largest vendors in the AIDC space, SBL and ZBRA, following which visibility into UNOVA’s RFID royalty stream has improved. UNOVA has resolved its IP dispute with SBL and intends to resolve the remaining legal disputes with SBL within 90 days, the analyst says. According to Bear Stearns, most of the large companies in the RFID industry have joined UNOVA’s Rapid Start RFID licensing programme and the company is expected to receive substantial royalty revenues going forward.
