Yes Rande, and I saw the person in California talking about their many levees - I think he said 1,000, that would be destroyed in a major quake there - with damages MUCH larger than the flooding from Katrina - and much more expensive to clean up. Maybe half a trillion dollars, or more??

Why not spend the money to PREVENT these kinds of things - I agree with you.

I see people here (others) trying to spin this now as all the fault of the local people, and Louisiana - when we saw with our own eyes on live CNN and Fox feeds the urgent requests for help, and the promises by the Feds and FEMA that the "cavalary was coming.." - then days ticked by, and nothing - with people left to die.

They can spin all they want - but I think the local people in general did a good job. The problem is with the lack of quick Federal response.

I'm not interested in seeing continuous lies here though from those that keep posting false info now blaming the whole thing on the local people - or wanting to focus only on looting, a few bad police, etc. I think that is largely racially motivated, and repugnant.
