Adding 2 and 2 together? If gasoline demand dropped last week because of price spikes combined with consumer confidence dropping fast,

then that means people may not be going to the malls, or travelling as much? Gasoline demand should have a good correlation with consumer spending. With prices moderating some, we will have to check for a bounce here next week.

JIM RITTERBUSCH, PRESIDENT, RITTERBUSCH AND ASSOCIATES, GALENA, ILLINOIS:

"We didn't get as much of a draw as I thought we'd get, across-the-board. A number really surprised me in this report. The 379,000 barrels per day gasoline demand drop. That's a big drop. Gasoline demand dropped with everyone scrambling to buy fuel in advance of price spikes and with all the evacuations.

"That equates to (2.65 million barrels). So without the demand drop the gasoline draw would have been larger.
