"Astrodome may close next week"

Houston only had about 8000 in the shelters as of this morning. They've set up a voucher program for vacant apartments and moved a bunch out that way. I haven't been able to track down where everyone is going.

I bet you the majority of them have been moved from Houston completely. You can't get 7K into local housing units that fast. Of course, that's assuming there were 15K at the Astrodome in the first place.

Given the confusion, I can understand the miscounting but what worries is the children who have been separated from their parents and sent to other cities.
