Mikron Infrared Third-Quarter Profit Slides 8 Percent on Lower Margins
OAKLAND, N.J. (AP) -- Mikron Infrared Inc., a maker of sensors, heat switches and calibration devices, said Thursday that its third-quarter profit slid 8 percent, as higher sales failed to offset decreased margins.
Net income fell to $462,143, or 8 cents per share, from $502,917, or 10 cents per share, a year earlier. Revenue rose 8 percent to $7 million from $6.5 million in 2004.
However, operating income dropped to $869,417 from $942,512 in 2004, as gross profit declined to 54.5 percent from 55.2 percent and compliance expenses rose. Selling, general, and administrative expenses grew 13 percent to $2.4 million and research development and engineering costs expanded 5 percent to about $536,000. |
