Where is all the jet fuel going? .

Without the expense of alkylizer processing, jet fuel production is made at the expense of other midrange distillates, such as diesel and heating oil -- not gasoline.

With diesel selling at a premium to gasoline, it sounds like there is a shortage of distillates rather than a surplus. In addition, we have not yet seen the normal build-up of heating oil inventories needed for winter.

Although commercial airlines may be flying less than they did before 9/11, military use of jet fuel has increased significantly ferrying material back and forth to Iraq and Afghanistan.
