I find disparaging any individuals who are involved with the Katrina recovery effort as disgusting. I don't know how to compare 911 and Katrina. Is Katrina 10, 100, 1000 times worse in material and human toll? How many first responders lost their home in 911? 0% How many first responders lost their home in Karina 80%??? How man first responder could walk or ride from their home to work even the same day as 911? How man first responder could walk or ride from their home to work even now several days after Katrina? I wonder if the physical and emotional stress on first responders is 10, 100, 1000 times worse in Katrina vs 911. And 911 first responders had anger at an enemy as a emotional safety valve and motivator. Who is the enemy in Katrina? And if 500 or 1500 police showed up, was their transportation for 10, 100 or 1000 available to any job.
