We reported back in July about the success story that was the Mac release of Duke Nukem 3D. MacSoft reported that the game turned a profit on its first day in stores and convinced many retailers of the real health of the Mac game market. Many retailers noted to MacSoft how pleased they were with the game's performance.

Now, there is even better news. According to MacSoft president, Peter Tamte, retailers report that the MacSoft's port of Civilization 2 has sold 75% more units than Duke did in its first two weeks.

If the trend continues, Civ2 will be a huge hit for MacSoft and a victory for all of us. Well done folks! [Kramer]
