You have to realize that a gallon of diesel cost significantly less than a gallon of gasoline until very recently -- you don't have to look back even 12 months.

Now diesel costs more than gasoline. So what changed?

I hope you don't think diesel demand has suddenly dropped leading to low turnover?

And I would be surprised if you think the transport costs associated with diesel have suddenly quintupled.

Middle distillates are in short supply due to heavy military demands for JP-8.

This has pushed up the price of heating oil, diesel fuel and jet fuel far more than the rise in gasoline prices.
