I was just watching a pundit on Fox News........I wish I could remember his name but these guys are so similarly white, its hard to tell them apart. He had on a former intelligence officer with the FBI I think.....they were talking about Katrina and what went wrong with the relief effort. The intelligence officer kept trying to refer the discussion to the poor performance of M. Brown but the Fox pundit wasn't having it. He kept steering the conversation away from that point, ignoring the FBI guy's comments that went along with his point. For a while, they went back and forth in this fashion.

Finally, the officer who had remained cool and calm throughout said: An important link broke in the chain of command.....meaning M. Brown. The Fox pundit's response: all the links broke from the local level all the way to the president. You could see the frustration in the face of officer. He wasn't trying to be partisan but rather just trying to get at the truth.

With ideologues, that's a hopeless goal. They will deny Brown screwed up [and that includes Chertnoff]from now until we get to the stars. You can't reason with them; instead they can not be allowed to have power.
