They also claimed that when Bush met with the mayor and the governor in New Orleans, he flatly told them that any aid was conditional on them turning total control over to him. Thankfully, he relented the next day. But imagine putting conditions on the lives of his fellow citizens...

I just listened. That's exceptional... everybody should spend the 20 minutes. It's a great review of how this mess unfolded, which is getting lost in the static.

I hope they have a real, bipartisan investigation. A time line, with ALL the bits and pieces of data, would be a remarkable read. The good, the bad and ugly... a primer on how to handle, and not to handle a disaster. It's the only positive we could get from this storm response...
