It is even worse in the commodities that it is in the stocks.
I had clients in lumber, copper, and oil and unleaded gas, before the hurricane. I sent them emails for a month about each trade. Most of it was options strategies like spreads and straddles.
We had 3 limit up days in lumber last week, and now everyone wants lumber, copper, and of course all the energies. I would say their timing is off. Everyone in early has cashed out at least half of their positions. I am telling new people to diversify a little in each of these commodities on pull backs to support. Even coffee broke a 3 year downtrend line when we lost 27% of the USA's supply in a warehouse in New Orleans.
They will rebuild in New Orleans, but the futures are trading like it is going to happen next week. There will be plenty of opportunities ahead.
