Bill .. I have the parts assembled and ready to weld to finish a small water wheel power plant. Is this set up you've described astride your water source or did you divert the stream to the generator ?? I'm leaning towards a standard diesel generator ( marine type ) capable of burning diesel/waste oil/wvo or svo ie whatever I can make myself or get my hands on ... I've got a 12 month available stream at our place in VA but I think my flow rate maybe inadequate for power generation .. Triff ..
