The troubling thought about this Presidency is that it has perfected the art of moving very quickly to destroying anyone who opposes the Administration. It came to power in this fashion starting with falsely attacking John McCain (photograph of his dark skinned adopted daughter along with the false accusation that he fathered a illegal child with a Black woman). They destroyed Colin Powell, the CIA chief Tennet etc. etc. and so the story goes on.

This is in line with how Hitler, Stalin and Mao held onto power. The Bush handlers act like BUsh can do no wrong and that it is the others who are at fault. It is Nagin at fault for fleeing the hurricane and seeking refuge outside of New Orleans etc.

In times of a human tragedy ysuch as this, we would expect people like Karl Rove and others to step back and the President should order Karl Rove to shut up and cease and desist from his dirty campaign of counter offensive against Nagin and Blanco. Where is the decency on Bush's part.

We wonder how Wal-Mart beat out the White House in the relief efforts. This is the strongest Govt. on earth, much much stronger that any State Govt.

Well at least Bush took the correct first steps in moving Brown aside. And he did so very gracefully. I don't think anybody wants to impeach Bush. That would be a shame on a nation. People want Bush to succeed. But then he needs to have a will to succeed and should break himself away from leaning tooo heavily on just the Christian right wing.

Just a few sobering thoughts on a Saturday night.
