This is a time of national shame for this country. Not a time to bicker about political parties. Bush needs to take hold of the situation. He needs to order hitmen like Karl Rove to shut up and get out of the way. He needs to come in front of the people every day for the next 7 days and tell the nation what steps he has taken towards Katrina relief. He managed to stop the slide with his graceful handling of Brown. I think Brown should see the handwriting on the wall and go quietly and Bush has done this very deftly and gracefully. But surely Bush has a lot to do to repair not only the damage to his image but also the damage to this country's image in the eyes of the world. Americans want their President to succeed. Americans want this President to take this country back to the days after 9/11 where every nation in this world stood by this country. But that is not the case any more. It is not Nagin, Susan Blancoe or Cheney or Karl Rove. It is President George W. Bush of the US. Time for him to show he is in charge.
