of biodiesel, sounds great, but there are terrible reports that everyone using it develops hunger pangs for french fries or fried chicken or some even pop-corn...

on other ideas I've always hoped would do more/better, I thought wankel might show more hope. I had an old RX-3 long ago. It produced Great power BUT poor - for the size of car - mpg. got about 15-17 around town and was so loud tinney obnoxious and uncomfortable a "long" road trip was an hour. Never could justify 2nd car for just around town use when I was single and long trips - 3-12 hours - happened often living in West Texas. RX-3 had a terrible disposable feel about it, though not much different from so many other small cars of the day.

link to today's RX-7 shows they haven't really fixed the mpg issue " 18 city and 21 highway MPG".

Makes me remember 2nd cousin of dad's who said he found a way to get 15 mpg in 40 ft 440 CID Dodge powered Winne - LIE!
Robert said it got only 6 mpg over 600 mile trip - and it spent the last 60 miles being pulled by a Mack wrecker...... hehehe
