Yes, like the people in those old folks homes who didn't have access to a means of escape. I don't know why we sympathize with them. They should have hit the road with their walkers, because people are primarily responsible for themselves when a hurricane approaches.

TO Steve: Your killing me, man. Many of those left were stupid, I'll warrant you, but a whole lot more just COULDN'T get out. Sometimes people really don't want to believe the worst is coming too. That's why our local, state, and fed gov't sometimes needs to give an order and make it happen. That's what we pay taxes for, to benefit from a collective pool of money that can better protect us than if we relied on our own resources alone.
