I was inspired by that count that someone posted to you, so not my idea. The MACD suggests a triangle certainly. On NDX it is truncated at the Aug 3 top, unless we go higher here as a C wave, which I doubt but then I am continuously surprised in the very short term. It is unorthodox as you said that the upper line of the triangle is angled whereas the standard textbook E-Wave ascending triangle has a flat top.
In Australia we are in the process of completing a 5th wave up from the 2003 bottom. The same would go for major European markets, so hard to be bullish in any of those unless the patterns extend. Some of these could run a bit more:
