The fossil record is incomplete; so what?

I'll let Darwin answer that (from Chapter 10):

Why then is not every geological formation and every stratum full of such intermediate links? Geology assuredly does not reveal any such finely-graduated organic chain; and this, perhaps, is the most obvious and serious objection which can be urged against the theory.

Is this the way you would normally converse? "Hi, Joe, say, have you ever read On The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection,or The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life? Just wondering." Is that the way you talk? Most people don't. BTW, no Amazon version I can find of The Origin of Species has those subtitles.

As far as the universe goes, the physicists ... are perfectly willing to admit that there is speculation and somewhat unknowable things involved, as am I.

Thank you for that. I will pass it along to the ID people, because I am sure they would settle for having that caveat appear in science textbooks that deal with evolution theory.
