Windows of course would have to made from bullet proof glass, and doors at least 2" think solid steel.

Bullet proof doesn't work, it would have to be blast proof, and debris could still break through the frame. But add shutters made of 4 inches of rienforced concrete and you have a cat 5 proof window with closed shutters, maybe even tornado proof.
