With regard to ownership or control of mainstream TV and press, you live in a world of myth. The top 10 magazine companies account for 75% of the magazine revenue. These companies include the likes of Time Warner(the largest), Hearst(15 newspapers, 20 TV stations), Advance(25 newspapers) and Primedia. None of which are noted for their liberalism. A large percentage of the radio stations in the US are owned by Clear Channel Communications which also owns many entertainment venues. NBC is owned by GE, which also owns quite a few local TV stations, Rupert Murdoch owns about 30 local TV stations, Fox network. CNN is owned by Time-Warner, ABC by Disney. These are businesses, devoted to capitalist principles, primarily profit. cjr.org You may now go back to your dream world.
