That's impossible -- affirmative action and meritocracy are a contradiction in terms. While people are selected on the basis of colour, or any other arbitrary measure, they are not selected on merit. Maybe one day, but not now.

That's true. There's nothing we can do except try and survive as best as we can. We certainly cannot make any difference to any decision made by the government -- not knowingly, anyway.
