Re: That's impossible -- affirmative action and meritocracy are a contradiction in terms. While people are selected on the basis of colour, or any other arbitrary measure, they are not selected on merit. Maybe one day, but not now.
LOL... But "merit" itself is an arbitrary criterion! Who's gonna define "merit"? You? Scholars? Social scientists? A supercomputer? University researchers? Professors? Professionals? An IQ test? Nobel prizes? A popular vote? The stockmarket? Are there "call" and "put" options on "merit"? Is "merit" listed/traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange?
People are --and always have been-- selected on the basis of arbitrary, irrational, criteria, whether it's on the workplace, the military, politics, school, etc. Of course, that cannot be openly and candidly acknowledged by the ruling (and hiring) classes. Especially on the workplace: economic actors, we are told, are RATIONAL --hence the daily choices/decisions made by enterprises/managers/recruiters are always "rational". Executives hire and fire people out of rational motives only... After all, did you ever know somebody who wasn't hired because s/he was black? or gay? or Muslim? Laughable, isn't it? Those are not "rational" criteria --they are irrelevant! That's the rosy, happy picture the ruling class want everybody to take for the real life....
The pure meritocracy you're dreaming of exists only on paper --and within your delusional mind... or does it? After all, if you too belong to the ruling class or if you merely feel gratified enough by the current "racial pegging order", you don't have much interest in blowing the whistle, much less rocking the "racial boat". Hence your endeavours to spin the white dominion (in the US, Europe, South Africa, Latin America, Australia,...) as a NATURAL state of affairs. According to your fairy-tale view, white fabrics --be they corporations, political constituencies, scientific laboratories, universities, armies, whatever-- are basically purely meritocratic machines. Break them down and you'll find out by yourself that each and every man and woman that's part of them is the right (wo)man at the right place! Now, I ask you, who would be foolish, reckless, vicious enough to spoil such "perfect clockworks" of human harmony? Only frustrated losers! Minority misfits! Anti-white racists!
