Let's be honest. Most red areas are 'red' because of a high concentration of rednecks. They aren't rich and didn't benefit by Bush's tax cuts or the ownership society like many where you and I live which are blue. Look you can call the split 60/40 or 65/35 in most areas but the overall pole results are pretty consistent.
