I have a huge problem with bigots, and attacks on individual people (or groups) because of their race, sexual orientation, sex, age, whatever- and I do think in a society like ours, bigots must be brought to heel. I don't think much of people who swear in public either- and imo, if businesses, and schools, and workplaces of all kinds, discipline people for that, all the better. When I hear politically incorrect, I don't mean the bizarre bugaboos conservatives attach to the term, I mean racial slurs, persecution because of sexual orientation, and all the ways cruel people find to label and denigrate other people who are not exactly like themselves.

I do think people have begun to self censor for PC- and while I used to think that was a bad thing, I don't anymore. I've seen so much abysmal behavior on the net, I think most people really need to self censor- and whatever tips them over in that direction is a good thing. Some ways of speaking are just horrible- they are designed to degrade, and dehumanize, and those pathways of thought when reinforced really make society rather disgusting. Supporting Lenny Bruce was probably a mistake by liberals- nice to see them remedying it with PC (polite correctness).
