I think, and psychological research supports, that pathways that are not reinforced will become weaker- and bigotry, when not constantly reinforced by speech, and public approval, will probably shrivel up in all but the most die hard bigots- and that does seem to be what we are seeing in this country. Look at public opinions on any major questions- tolerance of interracial marriages, or interracial children, tolerance of gay marriage, etc.

I'd say there is no evidence for your position, that bigotry has not decreased. If you can find any evidence for an actual increase, let me know.
