>>Windows Media Player can copy music CDs. It copies to HD, then from HD to a blank CD.<<

This is exactly what I am trying to avoid. Most of the software (freeware) allows you to rip the audio tracks to HD and then to write them to a new audio CD. Roxio/Nero allows you to make a direct audio CD to audio CD copy. I have not seen freeware that does that yet.

Ripping tracks to HD and then burning to blank CD adds additional step and I am not sure if programs do a lossless rip. Anyone knows if at least the rips are lossless? In any case, it takes more time than in Roxio/Nero.

P.S. Sorry Gottfried, but your Yahoo link referenced hardware DVD writers, which is not what I am looking for. I did a search on copy software in Yahoo with the same miserable results as in Google.
