CJ, Actually, if the economy just grew at the rates it typically has when exiting a recession, that would be fine for me. But it is underperforming in that respect.

I'm not old enough to remember the stagflation of the 70's, but I do remember how the "recession" of 1992 got Bill Clinton elected. I also remember how we had a "recession" in 1998 as well.

Seems like that word gets tossed around rather freely these days, even though technically the most current recession already ended back in 2001. An "underperforming recovery"? Heck if I knew what that's supposed to mean. But one thing I'm noticing from my very limited point-of-view is that hiring has finally picked up again.

Maybe the unemployed Ivy Leaguers that Z and I know will once again be able to afford food on the table ... ;-)
