Intel, others ask Sun to cede control of Java

PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept 11 (Reuter) - Intel Corp (INTC), Microsoft Corp (MSFT), Digital Equipment Corp (DEC) and Compaq Computer Corp (CPQ) asked Sun Microsystems Inc (SUNW) Thursday to cede control of the Java computer programming language to an international standard-setting organization.

Nows that's kinda funny coming from MSFT whose OS is in over 80% of the computers in the world and INTC whose chips run in over 80% of those same computers.. lets talk more about who is in control... Looks like SUNW is a bit of a threat.
